There’s something about roaming a neighbourhood searching for great pieces of street art (and, more often than not, finding them) that’s immensely rewarding. It’s like a non-fattening version of an Easter Egg hunt.
I was a little worried when I arrived in Santiago that there wouldn’t be a decent street art scene, as Providencia, the part of Santiago I’m staying in, doesn’t seem to have anything but tagging. But Matt from Buenos Aires Street Art pointed me in the direction of Barrio Bellavista (which was right on the way to Cerro San Cristóbal anyway) and, as you can see, I had a rather good morning’s hunting:
